Community Visits
Community Visit Request Guidelines General The following information will assist in making a request for a Lead Your Way! role model visit. It includes working guidelines for planning visits. Each request will receive fair and consistent consideration. All requests must be submitted in writing using the Lead Your Way! request for role model visit form. Please give as much information as possible. Please send requests to the National Aboriginal Role Model Program three weeks before your scheduled event. Role Model Visits Role models are available for a limited number of visits throughout the year and limited to one visit per community. Fees There are no fees for role model visits. Expenses for events will be shared between communities and the role model program. If a community does not have the funds, the role model program will cover full costs. Availability Role models are available for a one-year term. They are available to make one visit per event or organization. Role models may not be available due to commitments such as school, work placements or full time employment. Promoting Role Model Appearences As motivational speakers, the role models will encourage youth to “Lead Your Way!” and promote health and healthy living among Aboriginal Peoples. They will encourage youth to achieve their dreams and goals. The role models will share their personal stories and messages. They are examples of young people accomplishing their goals. The role models will encourage youth to make positive and healthy choices that will help improve their lives and their communities. Role models will have their own posters and trading cards that will be distributed to Aboriginal communities, schools, and organizations.
