In 2009-2010 NAHO received a contribution of $15,000 from Scotiabank’s Diversity & Inclusion initiative specifically for NARMP-related activities to include the promotion of banking opportunities for Aboriginal people. To honour NARMP’s partnership with Scotia Bank, role models presented videos and encouraged Aboriginal youth to consider a career in banking.
Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC)
NAHO held a meeting with the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada on March 16, 2009 to discuss a partnership opportunity, and a proposal was submitted to SOGC seeking investment specifically in NARMP-related initiatives. On behalf of NARMP, NAHO received $30,000.00 to ensure that a sexual and reproductive health component including HPV would be added to the program.
The sum of the contribution was shared between the Contraceptive Awareness Program (CAP) and HPV education and awareness programs. To honour this partnership covering the period of April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010 two role models were dedicated to delivering 20 sessions in SOGC’s areas of focus.
