NAHO’s Aboriginal Relations and Initiatives Unit and First Nations Centre brought together a small group of key stakeholders and experts for a consultation meeting on First Nations Environmental Health in the Home.

Arctic Winter Games
The 2010 Arctic Winter Games took place 2010 in Grande Prairie Alberta from March 6 – 13, 2010. The First Nations Center provided funding support to the First Nations team members of the Yukon Aboriginal Sport Circle, Sport North (North West Territories) and the Dene Tha First Nations to participate in this year’s games.

Little Native Hockey League
The First Nations Center provided funding support to the 39th Annual Little Native Hockey League (Little NHL) Tournament which was held in Sudbury Ontario March 13 – 18, 2010.

Inuit Tobacco-free Network trains Inuit health and wellness workers
Frontline health and wellness workers in Inuit communities are taking a three-month distance education course about promising practices in tobacco reduction, which they can then use to encourage community members to reduce or quit smoking.
