Maskikiwenow the Métis Right to Health

This report examines the case for asserting a right to health for the Métis peoples in Canada. There is disparity in health status between Canadians generally and the Métis communities that exist within Canada. Statistics regarding health status demonstrate that Métis peoples are worse off than Canadians. Moreover, Métis communities, despite possessing comparable poor health conditions to those of First Nations‟ populations, do not receive the same level of services or health benefits as do First Nations.
