Health : Media statement – Wellness of the First Nations – a priority
Wendake, QC, Jan. 31, 2012 – One year after the summit meeting on the dependence of the First Nations entitled “Mobilizing for Real Change”, the Chief of the Assembly of First Nations of Québec and Labrador (AFNQL), Ghislain Picard, will meet with the media to officially launch the Annual Day for the Wellness of the First Nations. This day is part of a concerted action plan originating from the summit meeting, which – as we would like to recall – united over 400 participants from the communities. Chief Picard will be accompanied by Ms Marjolaine Sioui, General Manager of the First Nations of Québec and Labrador Health and Social Services Commission (FNQLHSSC) and by Dr. Stanley Vollant, spokesman for the “First Nations of Quebec Health and Social Services Sentinel Committee”.
