CyberWolves is making tracks!

// // Posted in What's New at NAHO

Grade 7 students at Jaanimmarik School in Kuujjuaq, Nunavik have recently begun their weekly sessions with a team of outstanding mentors connecting from coast, to coast, to coast. Four mentors from the National Aboriginal Role Model Program are using Skype to speak with students in Kuujjuaq on a variety of topics. As the semester progresses, mentors will discuss issues associated with health, recreation, culture, environment, leadership and education. Before the semester comes to a close, students will have been guided in groups to complete a project aimed at improving their community. At Kitigan Zibi Kikinamadinan (School), a different group of four mentors are working with students in the same way. Utilizing the website, CyberWolves.ca, all students involved with the project will be able to find resources, chat, post on forums, and provide feedback. CyberWolves is currently a pilot project with the goal of reaching other communities throughout Canada.  Please visit our site to learn more about the people and communities currently involved.
